dust proof suit
Dog sun protection vest for summer walks: a light layer that blocks a high proportion of UV on the back and shoulders, while water-repellent, dust-shedding fabric keeps road dust, grass and puddle spray off the coat. The surface is smooth and tightly woven, so hair and dust sit on top and brush off, and the fabric is quick-drying and anti-static, which makes it easy to clean and reuse. Breathable mesh panels at the chest, sides and back keep air moving, so the dog is covered without getting hot. The vest is cut to cover the back and upper body without covering the legs, and it has a leash opening so a harness can be used underneath. Sizes XS–3XL. MOQ 100 pieces, sampling 7–10 working days, bulk 25–40 days.
Dog Summer Dust-Proof Vest — Sun, Dust and Dirt Protection for Walks
Why this vest
Summer walking has three enemies: the sun, the dust and the fur. A dog that comes back from a walk covered in road dust needs a bath; a short-haired or light-coloured dog can burn on their back and nose; and a coat that collects hair and dirt is a coat you stop using. This vest deals with all three. It is a light, breathable summer layer with a water-repellent, dust-shedding surface, high sun protection, and a fit that keeps it in place without restricting movement.
It is not a winter coat and is not sold as one. It is the layer for hot days: protection from the sun and the road, with airflow that keeps the dog from overheating.

The fabric: what it does and why
Water-repellent surface The shell has a water-repellent finish, so rain, puddle spray and wet grass bead on the surface and roll off instead of soaking in. That means the vest stays light when it is wet, the dog does not end up wearing a heavy, cold layer, and a splash of muddy water can be wiped off with a damp cloth rather than going through a full wash.
Anti-hair-stick, easy to clean The outer surface is smooth and tightly woven, so hair, dust and grass clippings sit on the surface rather than working into the fibres. In practice: a brush or a wipe removes most of it, and the vest does not become a mat of fur that you have to pick clean. This is one of the main reasons owners keep using a summer vest — a coat that is hard to clean gets left at home.

Quick-dry The fabric releases water quickly, so after a wash, a swim or a rain shower the vest dries fast. That matters if your dog swims in summer: you can rinse the vest, hang it up and have it ready the same day.
Breathable The fabric is airy and the vest includes breathable mesh panels in the areas where heat builds up — typically the chest, the sides and along the back. Air moves through those panels, so the dog is covered and protected without being wrapped in a hot layer. For a summer garment, breathability is not a bonus feature; it is the feature that decides whether the vest is wearable in July.
Anti-static The surface has an anti-static treatment, so it does not crackle, does not cling to the coat and does not attract dust the way untreated synthetic fabric can. It also makes the vest easier to brush clean.
Scratch and abrasion resistant The fabric is woven for abrasion resistance, so it holds up to the things dogs do: pushing through bushes, brushing against walls and gates, rolling on pavement, and lying on rough ground. The stress points — the fastening, the chest and the hem — are reinforced, because a summer vest that tears in the first month is worse than no vest at all.

Sun protection
The vest is designed to block a high proportion of UV radiation, so it protects the areas most exposed on a walk: the back, the shoulders and the flanks. Owners of short-haired, hairless and light-coloured dogs see the benefit most — those are the dogs that burn quickest, and a light vest is much easier than sunscreen on a moving dog.
Two practical points for buyers. First, the UPF claim should be supported by a test report against the standard for your market (for example AS/NZS 4399, AATCC 183 or EN 13758), and we can supply the documentation with the order. Second, be accurate in the copy: the vest blocks UV on the covered areas, and the dog still needs shade, water and sensible walk times. Never describe it as a substitute for basic heat care.
Design and fit
The cut. The vest is cut to cover the back and the upper body without covering the legs, so the dog can walk, run, squat and climb normally. The chest and the belly are left open enough for ventilation and for male dogs, and the leg openings are finished so nothing rubs under the leg.
Fastening. The vest closes with a simple, secure fastening — hook-and-loop, snaps or a zip depending on the version — and the closure is covered so it does not catch on the coat. The fastening is tested for strength so the vest does not come off during a walk.
Leash access. There is an opening at the back so the leash can be clipped to a harness underneath without removing the vest.
Neck opening and hem. The neck opening is sized so the vest sits comfortably without pressing on the throat, and the hem is finished flat so it does not flip up when the dog runs. The adjustability on the chest strap allows the fit to be tuned to the dog’s shape, which matters in summer: a vest that is too tight traps heat, and one that is too loose moves around and rubs.
Care and comfort details. The inside is smooth, the seams are finished flat, and there are no hard edges against the skin. No dangling straps or loose cords. The fit should allow two fingers under the chest strap.

Sizing
Sizing is based on three measurements: back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, chest girth at the widest point behind the front legs, and neck girth. Chest girth is the most important of the three, and it is best measured with the coat included. The size guide lists the measurements in both centimetres and inches, and the size range is confirmed with each order. If the dog is between sizes and has a thick coat, take the larger size and use the chest adjustment to fit it properly.
When and where to use it
Summer walks. Early morning and late afternoon walks are the hardest times for a dog in summer: the pavement is hot, the sun is low and bright, and a dog with a light coat or thin hair burns and picks up dust. The vest covers the back and shoulders, keeps the dust off the coat and stays light and breathable.
Travel and days out. The vest packs small, so it is easy to take on trips, to the beach, on a boat or to a festival. It is water-repellent for wet grass or a quick paddle, quick-drying after a swim, and easy to wipe clean before it goes back in the bag.
Dogs with skin conditions. For dogs with sensitive or damaged skin, or recovering from a procedure where the vet has asked for sun protection, a light covering vest is a practical way to keep the area covered on short walks. Speak with your vet for anything medical.
What it is not. It is not a cooling vest, it is not a substitute for shade and water, and it is not for a dog that is left unattended. It is a protective light layer for supervised walks.

Washing and care
The vest is easy to look after, and the fabric is designed to be washed often.
How to wash. Close the fastening, put the vest in a laundry bag if you are machine washing it, and use a cold or 30°C gentle cycle. Hand washing in cool water works just as well. Use a mild, neutral detergent.
What to avoid. Do not use bleach, do not use fabric softener — softener coats the fibres and reduces breathability — and do not tumble dry on high heat or iron the coated fabric. High heat damages the water-repellent finish and can distort the mesh panels.
Drying. Hang it to dry in a ventilated place, out of direct sun. It dries quickly, which is one of the advantages of the fabric.
Re-proofing. If the water-repellent finish stops beading after a long period of use, wash the vest and apply a spray-on water-repellent treatment to the clean, damp surface, following the product instructions.
Storage. Store it dry and folded; a wet vest left in a bag will develop odour and mildew.
Questions buyers usually ask
Is it waterproof or water-resistant? It is water-repellent: it handles rain spray, puddles and wet grass. It is not designed for swimming or for prolonged heavy rain.
Will it make my dog hot? No. It is a light summer vest with breathable mesh panels, so it covers the back and shoulders while air keeps moving.
Does fur stick to it? Hair and dust sit on the surface and brush off, which is what makes it usable every day.
Is it safe to leave on? Supervise the dog while it is worn, keep the fit loose enough for two fingers under the chest strap, and remove the vest if the dog starts to chew it.
For buyers
