Men’s Knit Pullover Sweater
Men’s knit pullover sweater made for autumn and winter, in a warm knit that layers easily under a jacket. The black and ivory colourway is matched to Pantone on the yarn, so repeat orders stay consistent, and the rib at the neckline, cuffs and hem is knitted in the same yarn as the body and recovers after stretching. Panels are knitted to shape and linked at the seams, which keeps the inside flat and comfortable, and the yarn is selected and tested for pilling and shrinkage before bulk. The fit is developed to your own size chart, with flat measurements printed in centimetres and inches. Sizes S–XXL. MOQ 100 pieces, sampling 7–10 working days, bulk 25–40 days.
Men’s Knit Pullover Sweater
Wholesale and private label
Overview
This is a men’s knit pullover sweater, made for autumn and winter and for the shoulder seasons when a shirt alone is not enough. It is a pull-on style with no front opening, so it goes on over the head in one movement and sits cleanly under a jacket. The knit is warm without being heavy, which makes it a piece that can be worn indoors and layered outdoors, and the shape is cut to look tidy rather than loose or tight. The sweater is developed as a stock item and as a private-label piece: the yarn, the colour, the trims and the labels are all open to the buyer’s specification, so the same pattern can be sold as a basic knit or as part of a branded collection. Sizes run [S–XXL], and can be graded to your own size chart. MOQ is 100 pieces per colourway.

Why buyers choose this style
A plain knit pullover is one of the most reliable items in menswear, because it is bought every autumn and it is easy to sell in more than one colour. It does not depend on a trend to sell, which makes it a safer use of inventory than a seasonal novelty, and it works across age groups — the same sweater is bought by a student for everyday wear and by an older customer for layering over a shirt.
For the buyer, the style is simple to repeat. The yarn, the colour and the trims are fixed on an approved sample, so a second or third order matches the first without redeveloping anything. The sweater can be sold as a standalone piece, as part of a knitwear range, or as a private-label item with the buyer’s own label and packaging. With a 100-piece MOQ, a 7–10 day sample and a 25–40 day bulk lead time, it is a low-risk style to test in a new market.
Yarn and knit construction
The sweater is knitted to shape rather than cut from a flat panel of fabric wherever the design allows it. Fully fashioned panels are knitted to the correct shape and joined with linked seams, which keeps the seams flat and thin and stops the shoulder and the side seam from sitting proud under a jacket. Where the design uses cut-and-sew panels, the seams are overlocked and pressed flat so the inside of the sweater is comfortable against the skin.
The yarn is selected for warmth, hand feel and shape retention. Because the sweater is a single layer worn over a large area of the body, the weight decides how it is worn: a heavier yarn reads as a winter knit, while a lighter yarn works as a three-season piece that layers easily. The weight and the gauge are confirmed on the sample, and both can be produced in the same pattern so a buyer can offer a light and a heavy version of the same style.
Two quality points are controlled before bulk. Pilling: knitwear pills at friction points such as under the arms, at the cuffs and where a bag rubs against the side, so the yarn is selected and tested for pilling. Shrinkage: the knit is pre-shrunk or washed before finishing so the sweater does not come back from the first wash one size smaller. Colour is dyed on the yarn, which gives an even shade through the knit and keeps repeat orders consistent.

Fit and sizing
The sweater is cut with a comfortable body and enough room in the shoulder and the sleeve for the wearer to move and to put a shirt underneath. Grading, body length, sleeve length, neckband depth and rib depth are developed to your own size chart. Reference sizes [S–XXL], confirmed on the order.
Chest width, body length and sleeve length are measured flat, without stretching, and the measurements are printed in both centimetres and inches on the size guide. Because the rib at the cuff and the hem recovers after stretching, the fit should be judged on the flat measurement rather than on the stretched garment.
Colour and finishing
The photographed sample is produced in black with ivory, and the two colours can be used as a solid colourway, as a two-colour combination, or as part of a seasonal palette. Colour is matched to your Pantone reference and checked under D65 light before knitting, so the shade is consistent between the body, the sleeves and the trims.
The finishing is where a knit sweater is judged in the hand. The rib at the neck, cuffs and hem is knitted in the same yarn as the body so the colour matches exactly, and the rib is worked to recover after stretching so the openings do not go slack. The neckline is shaped to sit comfortably without gaping at the front, and the hem is finished so it hangs straight rather than curling. Loose ends are trimmed and secured, and the inside of the sweater is clean enough to wear without a shirt.

Sampling and production timeline
- Inquiry. Send a photo, a sketch or a tech pack.
- Yarn. Confirm the yarn, the colour and the hand feel, 3–7 days.
- Pattern. Fit, neckline, sleeve and rib depths, 2–3 days.
- Sample. First sample, 7–10 working days per round.
- Approval. Your sign-off on fit, colour, yarn and trims.
- Bulk. Production, 25–40 days after approval and deposit.
- Shipment. Final inspection and packing, then sea, air or express.
Most knitwear styles are approved in two rounds: the first sample confirms the fit and the neckline, and the second confirms the yarn, the colour and the trims. A pre-production sample is approved before bulk knitting starts.

Quality control, stage by stage
- Yarn checked before knitting, including shade and hand feel.
- Panels measured during knitting.
- Neckline, cuffs and hem checked for rib recovery.
- Pilling, shrinkage and colourfastness tested on the finished sweater.
- Measurement, colour and label verification.
- Needle detection and final inspection before packing.
Minimum order quantity
The MOQ is 100 pieces per colourway, and mixed sizes within one colour are accepted, so a 100-piece order can cover a full size run. This applies across our whole range, which lets buyers test the fit and the sell-through before placing a larger order. Custom dyed yarn, a special blend or special trims may require a higher quantity, confirmed at quotation stage.
